Lakeside garage remodel

The client is relocating to Lakeside and transforming this old garage into a workspace for his sign business. Originally built in the 1940s using railroad ties, the structure was as close to beyond repair as it gets — with significant rot and a badly shifted foundation.

Despite the challenges, we dove into the project head-on and began the process of saving this historic relic. Structural repairs were extensive, and there’s still more to come. The roof trusses from a 1970s addition were poorly constructed, so we reinforced them with proper diagonal bracing and newly fabricated gussets. We also replaced the sagging center beam with a solid glulam to restore stability and strength to the roof system.

With new wall framing and fresh window openings underway, this once-crumbling garage is being transformed into a solid, functional, and comfortable workspace tailored to the client’s needs.
